I'll try to explain how to keep the blog archive hierarchy collapsed on Blogger. You know blog hierarchy style archive list expands automatically on archive date. But if you use Blogspot's static pages, it shows the date you have created the page and i don't think this is what we need. So, i've found a way to make archive hierarchy collapsed.
You can make the archive hierarchy always collapsed or you can leave off post pages expanded. I have leave off post pages expanded but when you visit main page or my portfolio page, you'll see the blog archive is collapsed.
There are two text files in download, that you need to chose one of them and you should replace the original code. If you want to make archive hierarchy always collapsed, use always-collapsed.txt ! If you want to make archive hierarchy collapsed except post pages, use collapsed-except-post-pages.txt !

Step 1 :
Go to Design > Edit HTML > Expand Widget Templates
Step 2 :
Before editing your template, you may want to save a copy of it.
Step 3 :
Find the right code part in your layout editor. original-code-part.txt is the code you need to delete from your template!
Step 4 :
Delete the original code part and paste the new code that you have chose. And save your template.
